![]() What can you tell me about the specialty of the bar? We were going to run it the way it was but my digital partner and I saw something different. The owner passes away and I have been looking for a different opportunity and started investigating if that could be a good idea. I had gone to the bar on my vacation, and it was under a different name called Street Bar, I really like it, it looked completely different of course, we remodeled it. How did you come out with the idea of the bar? After 8 o’clock we get a much younger crowd, under age of thirty, to have a cocktail, may be a little nibble, and those folks are usually going to move on to the night club area. In the afternoon it is usually a little bit older, not too loud so everyone can enjoy talking one to another. What is the type of people that usually come at your bar? We wanted to have another option for people, because in one side of town dance clubs have a clientele that prevue late night, of course to have party at night, on our side of town there are lots of Martini bar and video bar, so makes me believe we can make a little bit of both, we can be a Martini bar, we can be neighborhood bar, and also have show. What strategies did you use to attract people and what do you think that makes this bar unique? La ChaChaLaca Chatterbox & Bar is located in the Olas Altas area of the Zona Romántica district, near Los Muertos Pier. I also wanted something original, Mexican, with vibrant colors that represent the gay community. People would say we go to chacha, chachalaca or lacalaca, keep people talking. Of course the bird -referring to the logo- represents a chachalaca so we went the double meaning, and it is kind of fun to say, it keeps in your mind. Chachalaca means to be very talkative and chatty, so the kind line of the bar is “La Chachalaca Puerto Vallarta Chatterbox Bar”. Yea La Chachalaca! I wanted a Spanish-Mexican name, and started searching around for a native bird. How did you come up with the name of the bar? Chachalaca isn’t that a bird? Christopher Biles and Vincent Paolucci Smith have opened La ChaChaLaca, Puerto Vallarta’s new ‘Chatterbox’ speakeasy.Ĭristopher Bills, a co-owner of La ChaChaLaca Bar (Vincent Paolucci Smith is the other owner), gave me his words about this wonderfully place. The bar has many different themes during a day that can offer chill ambience, original drinks, night club and shows. Open to everyone and supporting LGBT community. ![]()
